...everyday working people like us, are not in control of our public airwaves and the election process, then the wealthy capitalists will continue to rule our country as if an oligarchy.

Publicly funded elections coupled with free access to our public airwaves equal more parties, a better informed populace, more choices, and a much healthier "people's" Democracy.

6. If our government wasn't bought-off...

...we would have:

Universal health coverage
Industrial hemp farms and subsequent cottage green industry
Our troops home
A citizen oriented, as opposed to corporate oriented, EPA, FDA, OSHA, NLRB, etc...
Affordable housing

7. I applaud the effort but I believe Obama's rejection of public financing and his

massive Wall Street fundraising in 2008 have killed public financing for now.

Maybe concentrating on public financing for local and state would be successful. I think right now everyone has gotten the message that huge piles of money win elections.
