What Should I Tell My Congressman, Bobby Bright?
I'm going to e-mail him because I'm really disappointed he voted against President Obama's budget (just a few weeks after voting against the stimulus bill). I supported him during the campaign because I thought having a Democrat in our district would give the country one more Congressman who would try to work with President Obama. But if he's not willing to do that, I'd rather have a Republican elected in 2010 so that a true Democrat could challenge in 2012.

2. Why not tell him that?
Tell him exactly what you posted here.

Well, maybe not exactly what you posted here, but send the same sentiment in more diplomatic terms.

4. Fair enough. I was wondering if
there was anything worth adding but a concise message like that one (but yeah in more diplomatic terms) would probably suffice. This is a pretty conservative district, in which he can't win without having the support of independents and even some Republicans. However, he won't win if he doesn't have the vote of ever liberal too.

5. Well, start with those ideas.
1. his votes are disappointing and are not helping the economy
2. he's not representing you or your values or his campaign promises
3. continuing on the path he's heading on will mean he will lose your support
4. actions speak louder than words; he will have to do more than explain why he voted the way he did if he expects your support in 2010
