American Schizophrenia: Elect Obama watch FOX
More people watch FOX for news than the next two cable news media outlets combined. Our children isn't learning.

1. As we slide further into a full blown depression. I have faith that more and more American people
will wake up from the FOX ether.

If not, we're truly SCREWED by the willfully ignorant.

2. They are in more markets than MSNBC, first. Second, they run their shows
more than MSNBC does--they go to "LOCKUP" or infomercials after a certain hour.

I can't get MSNBC on my lower tiers of cable because the cable company moved it to an upper tier (like two of the three CSPANS, the bastids)--only on the one set that has "the box." I can get Fox on the lower tiers. I don't watch it, but I can get it.

4. Faux Is A Very Niched Market
Numbers are only as good as when they're put in perspective. Faux appeals to the rabid right...the 25% dead-enders who supported georgie boooosh to the bitter end and still live under the lies and arrogance of "conservatism". 1 or 2 million is a small slice of even that group if you base it on the past election. But it's all they have...the video equivelent of hate radio and purposely targeted to play to the angst and "outrage". In their narrow world, they have no other place.

6. another way of saying it is
at it's peak, 1 percent of Americans are watching Fox at any one time (OReilly).

Even if every last person who watches one of those 9 programs is a new person (i.e. the folks watching OReilly are all different from the ones watching Hannity) that's still not even 10% of the populace.

Of course, it's closer to it all being the same folks.

7. Comcast has helped FOX beat MSNBC by removing MSNBC from the tier of basic cable channels
and placing it it premium packages that many people just can't afford in today's economy. FOX is still sitting fat and happy in the basic cable lineup.

Comcast vehemently claims that there was no political motive, but it still smells foul to me.

9. Not just Comcast...
Atlantic Broadband and Dish Network, too. I'm willing to bet there are others, as well.

8. This actually makes sense. The angry repukes and right wingnuts
need the support for their brand of insanity and anger. Only Faux news can provide that sort of enabling.

10. Well, the Enquirer sells a lot of papers too,
and people believe their stories are all true too.

We just have to keep equating Fox with the Enquirer...junk jounalism...tabloid...
