Obama to propose 2.8 billion dollars military aid for Pakistan

Lahore, Mar. 31 : President Barack Obama has planned to propose 2.8 billion dollars in aid for the Pakistani military to intensify the US-led war on terror along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.

The military aid would be in addition to the civilian aid--1.5 billion dollars a year for five years.

According to Fox News, the military aid will be dedicated exclusively to "equipping, training, and building infrastructure directly related to counterinsurgency operations."

The channel quoted General David Petraeus, as telling that the plan will be called the "Pakistani Counterinsurgency Capability Fund".

2. Honestly I don't know how we should deal with Pakistan
What's happening there is pretty disturbing. I have a knee jerk reaction though when it comes to Petraeus, and I don't like the details in this.

4. Pakistan's military and ISI are full of Taliban and Al-Q supporters.
Giving the Pakistan military money is giving money to the very people we are supposedly fighting a war over there for. This is stupid.

5. At least we aren't giving more money to our military.
Oh, wait a minute. We're giving it to the military of another country. That can't be right. Can it?

8. Hope that it doesn't become another Vietnam and you better hope
even more fervently that it doesn't become a failed state with the radicals seizing power- and nukes.

10. Oh good. With our experience in counterinsurgency ops from
1952 to 1974 in SE Asia, that should go well. :sarcasm:
