Edited on Sat Mar-28-09 10:37 PM by opihimoimoi
Many Campfire Hogs are telling us President Obama is Wrong on this or that.....and from time to time they are wrong as described....but to the point...what are their viable alternatives?

17. It could well be. Either that, or it's the mendacious jerk theory!
Sometimes, people just can't bear to see others who are happy. They have to piss in the Cheerios to feel alive!

5. Hey, that sounds
suspiciously like the GOPig "budget" that was presented the other day by Boner.

As KO put it, "It's like handing in your math homework with no numbers."

So, yes, as I recommended elsewhere, if people are that upset with President Obama and his awful performance these past two months, they should rise up and get him out of office.

Biden would be good, too.

:sarcasm:

23. Take That Back
Other than economy-wrecking wholesale financial deregulation, and job-obliterating almost-free trade with China, Summers has been really helpful. Like one time, he warned Clinton as he was about to step in dog poo, which kept the White House from getting stinky.

47. Krugman hasn't been right about anything in 30 years?
I understand the argument against republicans being right, but a liberal nobel laureate in economics has never been right in 30 years?

This place is getting out of control.

25. opihimoimoi....
Nobody knows the answer. I think the problem may stem in the fact that Obama is not getting enough advice on this matter? Geithner and Bernanke are not the two individuals that instill automatic trust in making decisions of this magnitude. If he had a couple of other advisers, say a Krugman or a William Greider, then people would at least feel that he is getting all sides of the argument. As it is, people do not totally trust the bankers making the decisions.

30. Realistic Realities...
I think it's healthy for people to express their conflicts or disappointment with President Obama. Anyone who believed he was gonna be the do all/end all of whatever special interests or hope rather than paying attention to what he was saying deserves the let down. Taking over a government of this size is like trying to park a battleship. It moves slowly and with a lot of resistance. Considering the hole he was left in and the messes that are still being uncovered, the problems of this administration are the most difficult of any I've experienced.

For those who are critical...and again, there are many reasons to be. No administration is perfect and in a hurry up and do nothing world of the beltway. If someone has a criticism, I appreciate when they can come up with a solution or alternative. Otherwise it's just bitchin'.

35. These people, to start with:
On Education?

Marion Brady
Jerry Bracey
Stephen Krashen
Alfie Kohn
Peter Sacks
Ted Sizer
Jonathan Kozol

I could make it longer, if you need me to.

On Health Care:

Conyers
Kucinich
Sanders
Dean

and all of these groups:

http://guaranteedhealthcare4all.org/sites/default/files/676-NationalStateLocalEndorsers.pdf

On the Economy:

William Greider
James K. Galbraith
Joseph Stiglitz

and, of course, Krugman ;)

On the "war on terror:"

All of the people in Congress who voted against the IWR and the Patriot Act

All who voted not to further fund the war when given the opportunity.

These are a good start, anyway.

Edited on Mon Mar-30-09 08:05 AM by shadowknows69
The UN Charter
The Universal Declaration on Human rights
The US Consititution
The US Declaration of Independence, specifically that whole "Life, liberty and the pursuit of Happiness" thing, which in my crazy opinion should include basic housing, a living wage and health care.
The Geneva Conventions
The Nuremburg Trial findings.

The "How to run a fair and just country" manuals are easily accessible to The President.
