Ted Haggard's wife refeused to give him divorce; says what happened was "divine rescue"
Ted Haggard, the preacher who was removed from his Colorado church after a homosexual affair, said his wife refused to divorce him after the incident.

The former pastor made the comments during a taping of the syndicated program Divorce Court which is slated for a two-part broadcast on April 1-2, according to the Associated Press.

In a transcript of the show which was released to the AP, Haggard said he felt he had become so "toxic" that a divorce was the best thing for his children and wife, but the former evangelical preacher said his wife would not allow it.

Earlier this month, Ted Haggard's wife Gayle said appearing on Divorce Court was one step in his recovery.

"This is part of Ted's journey," Gayle Haggard told UPI. "It's made him a better man. I see what has happened as a divine rescue."

In 2006, a male prostitute accused Haggard of soliciting sex from him and using methamphetamine. Since that time Haggard has remained out of the public spotlight, but emerged earlier this year on a number of television programs to promote a new documentary about his life.

Does this mean the woman still thinks Ted can be CURED?
Oh...Dear...God................

Somebody needs to get the Haggard kids out of that home NOW.

That woman is too unhinged to raise a family.

4. She apparently loves him very much
Or, she sees a publicity bonanza and a chance to make some coin off of this situation.

But if it's the "love" thing, it's entirely possible that she believes with all her heart that Ted can change and become the faithful, exclusively heterosexual man that she has envisioned in her own mind. She's probably been told this from a very early age, and that if she just believes hard enough and trusts God enough, that this will all work out in the end.

There's a sorority of several million women who could tell her that she's bound for disappointment, but even then, it's not the end of the world. Some lessons can only be learned through personal, one-on-one tutoring, and she's in the graduate level course. Nobody can teach or learn this lesson for her; it's up to her to pedal her own bike.

3. wait, what??? They're appearing on Divorce Court?
Earlier this month, Ted Haggard's wife Gayle said appearing on Divorce Court was one step in his recovery.

:wtf:

Perhaps he can "recover" in private instead of being such an attention whore about it. Food for thought.

8. She would've done herself, him and the family
a favor if she had let the divorce happen, sad that they are all trapped in this sham. :-(

9. I'm beginning to feel sorry for the guy, believe it or not
He's obviously a self-hating gay. If he'd been allowed to divorce her (and why couldn't he anyway?), he would maybe have found happiness in the long run with some guy.

10. Divorce Court is still on TV??
I had no idea. I saw Haggard and his wife on Oprah a few months ago and she seemed to think he could be cured. He did a lot of talking in circles but I got the idea he was saying he couldn't be cured but he didn't want to say he was gay either.

11. I wasn't aware that one party could 'refuse' a divorce. All he has to do
is file, get a lawyer, and set the court date. Now, I understand that she will try to relieve him of all his wealth, but she was gonna try that anyway. So what gives?
