If Rush Limbaugh and his dittohead hordes can force Michael Steele to apologize, we can force Harry Reid to apologize!

Call the number. Talk to his staffers or leave a message on his voice jail. Demand an apology for telling off members of his own party.

Oh, and I'm trying to spread the meme on Reddit: http://www.reddit.com/r/politics/comments/8812a/did_harry_reid_just_tell_us_to_back_off_if_rush/ Vote up early and vote up often...

Make the call and spread the meme! You have your marching orders!

5. I'm making it up as I go along.
If you want to participate, all you need to do is call Sen. Reid's DC office (and I provided the number above) and demand he apologize for his public statement that MoveOn.org and other liberal groups need to "Back off!"

News link of Reid's statement here.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/politico/20090327/pl_politico/20559

It's just my attempt at creating and spreading an Internet meme - if you want spread it, make the call, and click on the link above to reddit.com, directly to the posting I made there, and click on the little up-arrow to vote it up. If it gets enough up votes, it gets on Reddit's front page.

And by all means, spread this around to whatever sites you want on the Intartubes.

7. The direct quotes from Reid in the Politico article:
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said Friday that liberal groups targeting moderate Democrats with ads should back off, saying pressure from the left wing of his party won't be helpful to enacting legislation.

"I think it's very unwise and not helpful," Reid said Friday morning. "These groups should leave them alone. It’s not helpful to me. It’s not helpful to the Democratic Caucus.”

Reid, who said he hadn’t seen or heard the ads, added that "most of run very few ads — they only to do it to get a little press on it."

Even though he didn't literally say "Back off", I interpreted it as such.

Even if you don't agree with the interpretation, this sort of thing could work as a way to exert political pressure and get Obama's budget through without molestation, keep health care, green energy and education in there so they can use the reconciliation rules to bypass the filibuster.

Yeah, I'm asking you to play along - chances are Reid won't actually apologize, but it might push him to do things our way for a change.

8. You're asking people to write the Senator about words that are not his.
I suspect that was the objective of the Political 'article.'

9. I don't care. Make him squirm!
If pussy boy can't get a proper Democratic agenda on the table, he needs to be under siege. I don't fucking care.

4. You seem to be attributing Politico's words to Harry Reid.

(Harry Reid did not use the words "back off." That was Politico.)

11. Oh, enough with the apology crap.
That's what's become of our culture. Someone says something that offends, and those 'offended' parties scream 'off with his head!' and demand he/she publicly apologize.

The Repubs are especially good with this tactic.

Public outrage! Demand an apology!

I disagree with what Reid said, but I won't join the party. I'm so sick of hearing people demand a public apology from anyone.

Why don't we collectively grow up, and simply say we strong disagree. And leave it at that.
