DNA Tests Show 13-Year-Old Isn't a Dad
Edited on Fri Mar-27-09 01:46 AM by DainBramaged
The British teen who claimed that an even younger boy fathered her child has a different story to tell after DNA test results showed young Alfie Patten wasn't the dad.

Chantelle Stedman, 15, said she had only slept with Alfie, age 13. Their story touched off international outrage over the moral standards of parents and their children.

But The Telegraph reported that other boys a few years older than Alfie had come forward saying they too had slept with Chantelle.

Now The Mirror confirms that while they don't know who is little Maisie's dad, it definitely isn't Alfie.
"The result will be a blow to Alfie who was "devastated" by the boys' claims and "adored" Maisie," the newspaper reported. "He was convinced he was the dad after a single night of unprotected sex with Chantelle."

News you need to know about because it isn't in the Huffington Post (yet).

1. i think he actually would have been a better dad than many others
older than him only because he seemed to want to be one and responsible.

i'm now wondering if the kid even had sex with the girl and they just made it up because she doesn't want the real father in her life.

4. He shouldn't be unhappy.
He just dodged a major bullet. He'll figure that out in time.

10. Exactly right.
Congratulations Alfie! You're NOT the Father!

Almost like winning the lottery.

14. It may not be uncommon. That doesn't mean she doesn't have issues. nt

7. I would not be surprised to find out that grandpa
is dad - if the reported behavior is true. Difficulty in setting sexual boundaries/sexual acting out is a pretty common challenge faced by many survivors of family rape.

8. Amazingly enough...
for hundreds of thousands of generations of the human race... 13 and 14 were considered "adults" and EXPECTED to be married and
have relations and produce children.

It's only in the last 200 years or so that this isn't the case.

Not that I'm in favor of it, it's just that we shouldn't be "shocked" when it happens.

11. Exactly.
You can't be surprised when teenagers do what they're built for.

(FWIW, this is also why abstinence programs never work.)

12. Right ... Girls start their periods at 11 or 12 or 13
They can have babies at that age ... and did for eons.

Not that it works for our society.

13. Exactly right. Nature is telling their bodies that it's "time", but society
tells them they have to wait. It's unrealistic to expect them to wait until they have finished school, started a career and found a life partner before engaging in sexual activity. I'm not encouraging teen sex, but abstinence past puberty is not the natural order of things. This is why we need comprehensive sex education and availability of reliable birth control to teens.
