"Charity" says birth control pills, herbs and vitamins prevent AIDS. NY Times runs an ad for them
Edited on Thu Mar-26-09 09:04 PM by ArchieStone1
The New York Times ran an ad a few days ago for a group called the "Center for Aids Prevention" that was claiming in its website that birth control and even some herbs they sell help prevent AIDS.

Of course, after a watchdog group caught the shady charity red-handed, the claim about the birth control pills has been removed.

Apparently the owner has been involved with the sale of dubious herbs allegedly linked to prevention of AIDS in the past.

Here is the before and after:

At any rate, the NY Times refuses to take down the ad, which asks for donations. I guess the Times is that desperate for cash.
