Looked at Press Conference-Looked like Saudi Arabia. How many women were there?
are the upper echelons of our governmental/corporate/finance/media-press conglomerate mainly composed of men interacting with men?

If so, might that not be a major source of our problems ?

9. Is that our standard? We have more women at Major Press Conferences than Saudi Arabia
Yeah!

I think we should have around 50% which would be less than the proportion of women in our population.

8. Why doesn't Obama do something about the shameful fact
that in a group of people, it is possible and in fact even likely that there will be gender imbalance? I think it is an absolute betrayal of women that he has not passed a law demanding that in any gathering of ten or more people, no fewer than 48% and no more than 52%, rounded to the nearest digit, may be women.

13. Who said anything about Obama. I am talking about Reporters at News Agencies.

When women are only 17% of House and Senate , about 12% of Supreme Court, and have never in over 200 years held elective office in the high Executive Branch it is , I think a problem.

I noticed that it may be a problem in serious news media also.

Are you triviaizling gender equity? or just being light-hearted?

22. Then do something about it
Run for Congress, run for the Senate, run for your city council or mayor. Rather than griping about it, take action.

24. Not griping, asking for opinion; getting the range of how Democrats perceive the issue

and trying to formulate responses to get to maybe another level.

In terms of the press conferences I am thinking we might get more questions raised about things that are often perceived as "women's issues' (although many men care immensely about them too--but may be less likely to raise them at press conferences).

19. I'm not saying that we shouldn't have a 50 - 50 ratio of men and
women, I'm just saying that a good solution works because it's a good one, not how many men or women made it.

In Rwanda woman are now a majority in Parliament. Perhaps we might gain from taking their perspective.
