From CNN: Iran is refusing to release the female British soldier.

Britian is also saying that they will suspend all ties with Iran.

These two countries are getting dangerous in the escalation of their war speak.

Watch for pressure to build as we get closer to Good Friday next week. I am working on rumors that I have heard from a few people. Included are stories from a few soldiers that they are being relocated and are moving towards the Iran Iraq border. This news is coming from two emails from an Army tank mechanic who had been stationed south of Baghdad. I will post updates as I can verufy and provide more info.

do they want this to escalate. All finger pointing about who was in who's waters needs to stop. I look at it like this. Let's assume that Britain was in Iran's waters. It is still in their best interest to not play hardball in this situation. What a wonderful opportunity this is for Iran NOT to show their fundamentalist streak to the world. Britain has every right to demand their people back.

I know that they have the same problem that we have here, a small percentage of people in high places who are trying to pull this religious war supremacy shit. I guess it's like the Iran version of our Dobson and Robertson. I dont know what they have planned, but their are tons of rumors floating on the net about a 12 hour attack on Iran nuke facilities on Apr 6 from between 4AM and 4PM. The leaks and rumors are starngley coming from Russian sources.
Would an attack on Iran make their position stronger in the same way that 9/11 emboldened our pres?

9. I for one am sick of the assumption...

that they should release the female soldier just because she is female. Yeah us wimmins are delicate little flowers. :eyes: They should release ALL of them. And I was appalled yesterday to see pics of her forced to cover her hair.

Everyone involved in this can basically suck my ass. The Brits are wrong. The Iranians are wrong. Somebody call it a both foul/no-foul situation and return everyone involved to their point of origin.

11. in regards to this stand off, Iran was about to let that female soldier

go if the Brits acknowledged that they were in Iranian waters, which the Brits are standing by their own opinion that they were not, Iran took back the decision to let the female soldier go given that the Brits were showing bad attitude and were arrogant behaviour.

I am not siding with Iran's decision, but this has happened before in 2004, and just why can't the Brits say that they are sorry, and then Iran will let those soldiers go. But that would be easy huh? Just my opinion.

be the "winner" rather than the "loser". Some men (male jerks?) feel the need to rub the other's nose in it rather than trying to find a compromise solution in which "everyone wins."

Plus, if this capture was done by just a faction in Iran, to just let the captives go would be an admission of that the action was a mistake and that faction would lose domestic political power.
