Aren't they magnificent? If you didn't know it, you would think these were photographs of the Vermont countryside!

======

My paintings focus on landscapes, particularly scenes of Vermont. My works are in private collections in New England, the New York and Washington areas and the West Coast. You may see some of my paintings at the galleries here. I hope you enjoy them. If you would like to inquire about buying a painting or commissioning a work, please contact me at: paulbremer@bremerenterprises.com

in 2003 as his subject. Not pastoral enough.

Fernando Botero doesn't like what he had to paint.

He did it for history's sake.

8. They would not be out of place in a junior high art exhibit.
The "private collections" HAVE to be family members.

I know quite a few TALENTED artists and go to many exhibits. These would never even make it into any juried show.

Although, I DO think they would be gladly accepted by:

32. How is it wrong to laugh? It reminds me of that one episode of The Simpsons ...
... with Frank Grimes, who tricked Homer into competing in a children's design competition.

Remember that one?

And all Homer did was copy the existing plant, with added "racing stripe."

47. This is actually kind of pathetic. I feel bad for him.
Art is such a personal thing and get criticized, it's like getting naked and having people rip you to shreds based on your looks. But art is an expression of the looks that matter: what one's soul looks like.

46. Perhaps if he is just a novice he hasn't settled on a style...
but it's pretty obvious in the other paintings that he has sense of depth/perspective. He also seems very unskilled in the creation of hard lines.

35. I'd say he should keep his day job, but he sucked at that, too.
Most likely his works are in private collections because he gifts them to people. Everytime they hear Paul is making a visit they pull them out of the closet and hang them.

39. Maybe if we buy his paintings as fast as he produces them, we can keep him out of
international relations??? Doing our bit for world peace.

Monsanto (with the patented seeds, now mandated in Iraq by one of the Bremer orders) should have Bremer on a lifetime income, so I doubt he needs to sell any paintings.

I've read just enough about the Bremer orders to be incredulous that the man (in one year) could visit such long-term horrors on that country.

45. The last one isn't bad, but the first two show the lakc of ability to draw circles...
that's assuming he did a pencil sketch underneath.

Nature is very flowing in it's lines, and the organic lines of his painting method are more suited to the last. Even in the first two, the natural elements look far more presentable than the representations of machined lines.

He also has a problem with perspective/depth too, which makes sense considering his career was lacking in perspective as well.

53. Extremely amateurish.
In the first one, you can see one of the main signs of bad painting:

Using paint straight out of the tube, without mixing it with any other color. That fence and foliage is probably Cobalt Blue out of the tube.

There are plenty of other reasons why these are terrible. Bad drawing, bad perspective, etc.
