Competing Utopias - Republican America vs Progressive America
REPUBLICAN AMERICA UTOPIA will have a copy of the Ten Commandments etched into the every seat in the courthouse. Prayer in school is mandatory.Bring back stoning, what the heck. Teach creationism and intelligent design. They had perfectly fine textbooks in use before Galileo - go dig some up. All Republican Americans will be required to carry firearms. Equal Rights for Women was a terrible idea - rescind it and get those women back into the home where they belong. Abstinence is the only legal method of birth control. Republican America will invest heavily in fossil fuels and big box retail. Republican America will be a wonderful place for corporations, because why would you need crazy stuff like minimum wage laws and OSHA anyway? Why have wages at all? Credit at the company store was a great system! And all those stupid stupid laws from those tree hugger anti-pollution people can be retired. Stick with Diebold - why argue with a winner? Predictability is what you want with elections and everyone knows that change is bad. In any natural disaster, know in advance that you're on your own. Stock up on Cheese Doodles and Budweiser now! Growth industries in Republican America are prisons, bankruptcy, and foreclosure property management.

PROGRESSIVE AMERICA UTOPIA will keep Church and State separate. Progressive America will have laws that protect the environment. Progressive America will produce alternate fuels and mass transportation. Progressive America will care about your sorry ass when you're stuck up a tree in a flood. They might even send people out to look for you and give you food and shelter. Progressive America will recognize the right of anyone to marry whomever they please of whatever sex they happen to be. Abortions will remain legal in Progressive America, but advances in birth control and morning after pills and male contraception will make them increasingly a thing of the past. Progressive America will move forward into a scientific future and do stem cell research and try to cure the diseases of Progressive Americans. Progressive America will have health care for all the inhabitants. All citizens of Progressive America will earn at minimum a living wage that is tied to inflation. Progressive America will make the looting of publicly owned companies by executives illegal. Progressive America will truly care about the fate, future and education of every child. Progressive America will lower the costs of higher education. America will base it's economic future on a service sector not of fast-food, but of healthcare and continued technological advances.

3. Thanks. While I thought I was being satirical in Republican Utopia
I have come to realize that there are many who would welcome EXACTLY such a world. That is their reality if all their positions were to come to pass - no government, self (or no) regulation, religion everywhere, etc. etc.
