Is it possible to speak about the Special Olympics in a humorous way without someone taking offense? I suppose we are just so overwhelmed and burdened by everything else that everything takes on added significance? Sometimes it is best to just count to ten...

It turns out that the President of the United States should go on the Jay Leno show and make a joke referencing the Special Olympics and his supporters should think it was a great thing to say.
Any one offended is just looking for a reason to be outraged.
Any one who thinks it was a mistake to make the joke is just looking for a reason to be outraged.
To acknowledge that Obama made a mistake on the Jay Leno show is to undermine his entire administration, his entire vision, his entire character.
I guess this will include Obama himself when he acknowledges it as a mistake and addresses the people who were legitimately hurt. He will have finally found the reason to be outraged that he has been desperately seeking.
And like a celebrated post on the topic began, "FUCK the people" who were offended by this comment. They are all a bunch assholes. God knows they don't have any insecurities or sensitivities about having disabilities or caring for those who do. They probably make Special Olympics jokes all the time when no one is listening. They probably make Special Olympics jokes while at the Special Olympics.

I hope I can get my bran adjusted to this reality because I have quite a headache.
