What about "transparency"?
First of all, no one would admit changing the laws to permit the AIG executives to receive their bonuses. Then Senator Dodd came forth and confessed that he did it, but at the request of the Treasury Department. Then President Obama says that he is responsible because he is the President. Then Treasury Secretary Geither comes forward and says that he is responsible, although he did not personally ask Dodd to withdraw the language to forbid the bonuses, he is responsible for those in the Treasury Dept that did ask him. What the hell is going on here??

2. I know, this is getting fucking confusing.
There actually WAS a good reason to hide the identities of certain parties, but I'm also fine with making them public.

Too many of our guys (Dems) are falling on the sword for things they didn't do!!!!!!!!

5. they didn't need to change the law..
to allow AIG executives to receive their bonuses..it already was the law. Dodd, and the Snowe/Wyden(?) amendment, provisions were meant to either retroactively go back and limit those bonuses to $100,000, or cap future bonuses. Either one would have legal ramifications because the contract between the government and AIG had already been signed.

6. The newest info is that the Bush treasury officials approved them
before any legislation.

The facts are still emerging ...

7. What the hell, indeed...who knows...so much spin, spin.....
I'm getting the drift that Geithner is going down...and it's all a game to get him to resign, since Dodd fell on his sword and Obama says "I knew nothing" and the Repugs claim..Dems all knew in January.

Who knows.
