Great Equal Rights Rally in Olympia, Washington today

Today under the beautiful sun in Olympia, Washington was advocacy day for Equal Rights Washington...hundreds came to share witness for equality in marriage and civil rights for the GLBT community. Gay, Strait, Bi, Unions, Church groups and others came on the heels of a couple of recent victories. The Washington State Senate voted to extend all the rights that hetero couples have to same sex couples. The bill passed mainly along party lines 30-18! We had a class session, followed by a rally on the capitol steps and then lobbied our respective legislators. We are still working on repealing the DOMA and getting same sex marriage legal. The time will come. It was a good day of learning, seeing friends and being supportive of others!
