EFCA introduced - Let 'em HAVE IT on Capitol Hill! Email from AFL-CIO...
An important step toward restoring balance and fairness to our economy was taken today—the Employee Free Choice Act was introduced in the House of Representatives and the Senate.

Now that the fight has moved to the halls of Congress, we need to take our campaign to the next level—and give more workers a shot at the American Dream.

Congress will debate and vote on this important bill soon. Your senators and representative need to hear from people back home immediately—they’re already hearing from corporate interests.

With the most pro-worker Congress in years, and President Obama committed to the cause, this is our best chance yet to pass this bill. But it’s anything but a done deal.

Corporate special interests are twisting arms, spending millions on misleading ads and spreading lies and propaganda to block the bill. We’ve got to put relentless pressure on members of Congress who haven’t signed on—and make sure those who support the bill stay strong.

>>>>http://www.unionvoice.org/campaign/passefca">There’s not a moment to lose—email your representatives RIGHT NOW!<<<<

With your help, we have joined with organizations across the country in rallying legions of activists. Together, we collected over 1.5 million signatures supporting the Employee Free Choice Act.

And during the February congressional recess, many of us delivered signatures directly to lawmakers in their home offices.

Now that the bill has been introduced, http://www.unionvoice.org/campaign/passefca">it’s time for your representatives to hear directly from you. The stakes couldn’t be higher—giving more workers a fair chance to bargain for better pay, benefits and job security will help restore the struggling middle class and make the economy work for everyone.

In solidarity,

Marc Laitin
AFL-CIO Online Mobilization Coordinator

P.S. It’s been two years since corporate lobbyists undermined the middle class and blocked this bill. They were backed by the same union-busters and greedy CEOs who ran this economy into the ground—and they will stop at nothing to keep workers from getting a fair shake. http://www.unionvoice.org/campaign/passefca">Send your message today!

..I guess. I get too much of that attitude of apathy and complacency all the time when I post stuff like this or send it around to friends/relatives.

Don't fall of the roof! We don't have any health insurance in this country. Some insurance bastards will be making bucks off your broken back.

7. Yea, I have lived and worked in socalled 'right to work states' my
whole life...get fired because it was only suspected i was gay.
I was an electrician on heavy industrial construction sites.
I could do the work and I always did better work too.
I kept my private life private, but would get suspected because I had not wife, girlfriend or act like a dog when a woman walked by the site.
Its true that I was gay, I just felt it was nobodys damn bidness, I did not 'bring it to work'. or get fired 'laid off' when i landed a job that came with benefits after three months on the job the lay off would come at 88 days..it is time Amurika actually valued those of us that actually do the work and make the products.
I won't fall, I came down when I started to feel unsteady, even though I have medicare and am mostly disabled I can only work a few hours at a whack..I ll have to rest for the next few days to recover..and I did come close to falling so I am done for today.. I should be able to put a couple more hours in next week. I am long term HIV , cancer (3x), survivor with seizures and on the job back injuries,,and Im feeling it now I m about to take an oxycontin..I hate those but the spasms are starting. I had to put the paint in smaller cans and push them up the ladder onto the roof..I could not get hired as a crash test dummy! Fortunately the roof is a very low slope almost flat. The advantage of living in a double wide.
Our AC ran from 9 am to 12 midnight summer before last and I had manage to save a few bucks and got a couple buckets of silver primer, that helped so I saved up again and got white sealer reflective 80% as I caught it on sale. I m thinkin since we cannot reroof this will give us a breathing room for a couple of years its guaranteed for 7 years on flat roof..on shingle it should last at least 5, maybe we can get the car paid off and then a new roof plus 'attic' (dead space between the ceiling and roof) insulated.
Some times I think I am only still alive out of "meaness and stubborness' I want to see the end of the rpigs/corpses rule of our country. I do mean the end, and shine a nice bright light into all of those dark nasty corners, like infection it all needs to be cleaned out and sanitized.

8. Just got here, Sister - I care! So should everyone else! K&R! If you care about justice, about
justice for workers, racial justice, about environmental justice, about our childrens' schools and about health care - care about EFCA. Write your Senators, call your Congressional Reps, talk to your neighbbors. It's about simple fairness and a check on corporate greed, and stopping the race to the bottom and helping our brothers and sisters in the Third World bring themselves out of wage-slavery and and abject poverty.
