Repugs are fiscally conservative only when they're not in charge.
My boss, who is a Repug, once asked me to read a chapter of Tom Coburn's book that he thought I'd find interesting. The long and short of what I read: once the Republicans got the majority in 1994, Gingrich suddenly lost all objections to pork and got in Coburn's face for objecting to it.
Same shit now. Truth be told, I hate pork, I wanted none in the bill, and I'm pissed at Schumer for claiming that we don't care about it, but you raise a good point - it's still a drop in the bucket. The party of fiscal conservatism spends like drunken Hollywood starlets when they have the reins, and bitch about everything we do when they don't.
