This line from an op-ed in NYTs, by Charles Blow, made me laugh out loud (and startle the poor cat asleep in front of me on my desk).

That one simple comment sums them up perfectly IMO and the rest of piece is pretty spot on too. :)

According to the most recent NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll, the percentage of Americans who view the Republican Party positively is at an all-time low. Meanwhile, President Obama’s positive rating is at an all-time high, and the Democratic Party’s positive rating is near its high.

Why? Because the Republicans have dissolved into a querulous lot of nags and naysayers without a voice, a direction or a clue, and we are not amused.

And who has surfaced as their saviors? Bobby Jindal, Michael Steele and Rush Limbaugh — the axis of drivel.

I think they would be better off if they had Palin in charge.

I really cannot believe that these three have made Sarah-frickin'-Palin seem like the smart alternative.

is Palin, Jindal, Steele and Rush. Talk about scrapping the bottom of the barrel. :eyes: I must admit to a bit of schadenfreude over this however. :D

8. I find the strange need to apologize to all of my Republican friends.

There is just this nagging feeling that I must start every conversation with "I'm sorry your party sucks so bad." It's one thing to be in the minority, but this must be really painful for those on the right to watch.

9. Understandable... although I don't have too many Republican friends they're all...

the old style Ike types and are horrified at what their party has become.

Heck even my one very conservative family member admits she's less then impressed with the Republican party ATM and she's flabbergasted that they're sucking up to Rush, whom she has a rather low opinion of (the dislike of him is one of the few things we have in common. ;))

7. The Peter Principal On Steroids...

If the GOOP was a stock, they'd be delisted...if they were a baseball team, they'd be demoted to AA. This party has disintegrated through its own arrogance and corrpution. It's "leadership" of the past 20 years...Gingrich, DeLay, booooosh, Frist, Steele, et al abused their positions and have been rejected by the voters...driven out of power and what's left? Sarah Mooselini? Piyush Jindal? Mittens? All not ready for prime time.

Rushbo has risen as the symbol of this corrupt and crumbling party in a void. His blunderbust is all that these dead-enders have to hang on. He spews opiates at his "masses" with lies, revisions and decpetions that have convinced his dittoheads that they are not responsible for any of the messes this country created...and are victims.

The rushpublicans are still in massive denial and detached from any sense of reality. And that's fine with me. Let Rushbo be their leader...right off the cliff of political power, credibility and relevence. The more they complain, the better the rest of us feel...in fact, many of us know, this means there's progress.
