Siegelman vs Schlozman.
What we saw today was the beginning of the painful karmic slap that will collapse the wide stance party in two ways.

First, while Gov. Siegelman may be a mixed decision and may yet be completely exonerated, it provides a negative feedback to the republican attack machine by further exposing Karl Rove to prison time. Nothing in this decision that I can determine exonerates Rove. This puts an end to the illusion of Republican impunity. Other, littler Hitlers will drop the dime on their former masters with shocking rapidity in the months ahead. What will be revealed may require certain former officials to be put in protective custody.

Second. Brad Schlozman took a ferocious hit today. Justice *withdrew* the political suit against Missouri officials which the fired former attorney Todd Graves would not press to 'prevent voter fraud.'

Now it goes without saying that Brad's political future resembles a bucket of chum, but if a RICO case starts evolving between justice and the executive, will Bradley grow old in Leavenworth, rather than Johnson County?

In both cases, we punish Republican malefactors in a way we did not sufficiently after watergate.
We also inhibit future aggression by making an example out of Rove and his Rovelings.
