CNBC - The American People Have Thrown Up Their Hands
Earlier this a.m. one of CNBC's talking heads said that investors are throwing up their hands and then another said "the American people are throwing up their hands". Then they all grinned through the day watching the stock market go over a cliff..again! There was one voice of reason later in the day visiting the show. He said that right now Obama is trying to go in too many directions on massive undertakings that will take a great deal of money and that he needs to pause and dwell with all intensity on this economic mess.

I agree---We are all thinking "politically" with our wish list in hand. In a different climate, it would be okay for all of us to be beating at the door of the Oval Office. But, right now the people have way too much on their plate. We have to get this under control or no other "issues" will ever be able to be maintained if the economic system finally dives into "depression" (which I think it's in right now...or all but it's nose is under). People have to start feeling that "saving" their job is right around the corner rather than "clean energy" is right around a few more corners.

1. Clean Energy is the job right around the corner
There is no economy to save. We have to create a new one. He gets it. Thank god somebody does.

2. An "Economy" will be moot on an ecologically ransacked planet
Many of us have been saying this for decades. Some folks are finally catching on - even a year or two of seeming economic "stability" will quickly be usurped if we don't address looming eco upheavals...

And as the previous poster noted, such "addressing" will itself lead to new, needed, economic models...

3. Well, I just saw a beautiful sight.
I was heading downtown and saw a train of white wind towers from Siemens. I don't know how many they had, but I would guess over 50. They overlapped each other by 1/4 length, I would guess and were poised as though they were ready to take off. People were out of their vehicles, taking photos. As I understand it, Siemens has orders way into the future.

Also, they began clearing trees and brush from the roadways, getting everything ready to go for new highways/bypasses when the weather warms up. They started the Monday after the Stimulus Bill was signed.

Either push, pull or get out of the way.

4. CNBC are a bunch of rich arrogant financial reporters with little care for the average person
The stock market is being manipulated by the big movers and shakers who are upset the party is over. They are pathetic.

7. Obama is wisely spending his political capital
on rebuilding our economy. Green energy creates jobs today. Wind and thin film solar are not tomorrow's energy. They are available now, and we need to put our resources into building that infrastructure.

Our state is already offering a 3 week 'weatherization training' class and will assist grads with finding work.

As above poster said, we had tree companies driving around cutting away tree limbs and brush...I think actually before the package was signed.

We have projects that had been put on hold ready to go.

8. Bush, Reagan and Bush did all they could to deliver this steaming mess.
Obama's got to go in a bunch of directions at once. Otherwise, it's all over.

9. Without Single Payer Health Care all will be in vane.
That is the root of it all. Without fixing Health Care immediately nothing will do any good and especially funneling more money to failed banks and AIG. People are going to lose heart.
