Tickers
When I had my heart attack, what this was showing was important to me. I paid very close attention.

Here is another kind of ticker. This is the "who gives a shit?" ticker.

5. Who gives a shit?
Tell me you are kidding.

While it is certainly important to be alive, it is also pretty important not to have to go back to work at 90 because your retirement you've saved for your whole life is no more.

6. The upper ticker is showing .....
.... a life's vital signs.

The lower ticker was viewed as the vital signs of our country.

It isn't.

I've lost a shitload in this debacle. And there was not a fucking thing I could do about it.

I'm thinking I'll get to retire when I'm 92 .... unless the market goes down more. Then it'll be 93 .... 94 ......

I'll be dead by age 80 ....... hence my "who gives a shit."

7. Exactly
It is ignorant to assume that only the rich will be negatively impacted.

Meanwhile
(1) fewer funds are available for educationasl scholarships and grants;
(2) funds are being depleted which should have been sufficient to provide lifetime care for disabled and handicapped heirs;
(3) elderly folks who are no longer able to work are losing the ability to be self supporting;
(4) capital is being lost which could be used for new business and job creation; and
(5) folks are losing the ability to finsnce health care.

There are a whole lot of folks who are being deeply hurt and who do not have the ability to work and earn money to replace the funds lost. I wish everyone who bitches about their lost retirment savings would be a bit more cognizant of that.

11. Folks can be ignorant
without being either hopeless or angry. All they have to be is so focused on their own circumstances that they are not aware of or do not consider the circumstances of others. Sometimes those circumstances are far worse.

Someone who has lost retirement savings and is still employed and able to work is in a better position than someone who cannot work and is dependent upon income from their soone to be depleted investments. Both have reason to be angry. But only those who are unable to work and provide for themselves have reason to be hopeless.
