Poll question: Why is David Frum comparing Limbaugh to Jesse Jackson?
David Frum not happy about the new "voice and the intellectual force...behind the Republican party"

1. They're both charletons?
Jesse's given some great speeches, but he was a farce as a presidential candidate.

2. I think there's PCP in the air on planet Bozone.
What else could cause these kinds of hallucinations.

3. How ridiculous. When Jesse Jackson does something controversial, Democrats run away.
When Rush Limbaugh does something, it is always controversial, and Republicans wait in line to kiss his ass.

4. Because he is very popular among a very important and loyal part of the party

coalition, but yet he tends to be a loud, brash ideological hardliner in a manner that is offputting to many of the moderates whom the party needs to attract (and whom the charismatic opposition President has all but locked up) in order to come back from the political wilderness. As such, the party is in a bind, because they cannot repudiate him without destroying what is left of their party, but they cannot get behind him, because doing so would relegate the party to minority status for the foreseeable future.

It's not a perfect comparison to Jackson in the '80s, or even a particularly good one, but it's not a terrible one either.

5. Because republicans are so lost, Frum knows they need somebody, anybody...(Rove, Norquist, Limbaugh)
Edited on Mon Mar-02-09 04:21 PM by LaPera
to keep them together and a lying, greedy elitist, hateful republican corporate fascist like the pigman fits republican ideology perfectly, that's who republicans are, if they are left alone to pursue their selfish sick corporate and worker hating ideology....

So Frum is telling republicans to follow Limbaugh and stick to the same hateful ugly dividing of America and they'll succeed in forcing a racist civil war and a new corporate fascist society will emerge forever...this time though we'll put all the liberals and progressives in prison and kill them, to insure fascism lives on forever, as their great leaders Karl Rove & Grover Norquist have envisioned!!

Which pigman am I referring to? Rove, Norquist, Limbaugh....they are ALL republican pigman!
