23. What's your retirement horizon?
If I had 15+ years to retirement, I'd be buying equities...maybe not quite yet, but soon.

As it is, I have 7 years...and I think this market is going to take at least 4-5 to really turn around (and that's an optimistic scenario).

5. If we loose 70% of its value (like it did between 29 and 34)
that will really be bad news

Though the idea of re-regulation is probably driving some of this

Party's over

Some Wall Street Billionaires jump...as humanistic and forgiving as I am, it wouldn't upset me.

26. Heck no! My retirement is in AIG Annuities! I've already decided to work until 90.
Since no one is going to stop or prosecute the crooks on Wall Street, maybe they will have to lose it all before we get a change. All of us who go to work for a pay check are already screwed.

32. For CNBC, this is just a game. They are all millionaires
I suspect that some of them bet against what they say on the air. What they say on the air may be a bait for naive investors. I can't figure them out. They are such smooth talkers. Commentators on TV should have to disclose their personal investments so that people could judge whether to trust what they say or not. By disclose, I mean publish in writing every trade they make, every investment, everything they earn.

10. My Dad heard Warren Buffet's comments over the weekend and told his broker to sell.
My Mom has been trying to get him to get them out of stocks for the past year and a half. It is a slightly touchy subject.

he and people with the means like him were doing some quiet buying today and will be doing more as we watch things drop for a few more weeks.

17. When Warren Buffett is losing money ...
http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601087&sid=aIKfD7OUmHng&refer=home

March 2 (Bloomberg) -- Stocks slid worldwide, sending the Dow Jones Industrial Average below 7,000 for the first time since 1997, and Treasuries rose after Warren Buffett said the economy is in “shambles” and American International Group Inc. posted the largest corporate loss in U.S. history.

Berkshire Hathaway Inc. fell 6.4 percent following the worst drop in book value in Buffett’s career at the company. Citigroup Inc. tumbled more than 15 percent as AIG posted a $61.7 billion quarterly loss and HSBC Holdings Plc said it needs to raise capital, triggering the worst plunge in U.K. banks since at least 1985. Exxon Mobil Corp., the world’s biggest company by market value, fell as oil slid 9.6 percent. General Electric Co. sank below $8 for the first time since 1994.

27. Quick! Everbody go out and buy a lot of crap to save the economy!
The geniuses in Washington and Wall Street are counting on the stupidity of the American people to bail them out.

Unfortunately, even stupid people know when they're broke.
