Billions for Banks? Who's Missing Here? --TAXPAYERS!
Flat wages and higher healthcare costs and insurance have pushed the lower and middle class taxpayers to the brink.

And now, we give billions to banks and insurers --yet the recipients of the taxpayer money are raising interest rates on credit cards to astronomical levels while withholding regular lending from even those customers who have never missed or been late with a payment.

Taxpayers need not only a check --but protection from ultra usurious actions by those who hold out their hands to the government saying "may I have more taxpayer money?"

There needs to be a quid pro quo for the receipt of taxpayer money --and they need to start cleaning up their act pronto!

3. And the weight of his words is exactly what?

Madoff is at home in his mansion with his ankle bracelet. Yet you or I can be imprisoned for such misdeeds as not having the money to register our cars.

The banking elite is laughing their heads off an Obama, and at us.

4. I don't think so. For them to have to come begging for $$ to begin
with I'm sure was pretty traumatic for them, but Pauson gave them a free ride. All those multi millionairs now realize it's THIR JOB at risk now. They were so used to having anything they wanted, they had no idea it could come to someone taking it away, but it has.

Don't be so pessimistic. From everything I've seen, Obama has hired very good people, and every one of them is promoting HIS demands.

Why do you think Wall Street hasn't responded positively to Obama's speeches? It's because he's calling THEM out on their irresponsibility, and he's going to make they accountable now. They don't like that!

I do believe it will take two years, but we'll see the fruits of the Obama plans.

5. I have faith that Obama will bring positive change.. that does not change the short term
These credit card companies are worse than loan sharks when it comes to their usurious credit practices.

And yes they know change is coming, but in the meantime they are raising card rates to 29.99%, and default rates in some cases to as much as 53% or more.

The time to demand change in these practices is before we give them one more red cent of public taxpayer money.
