I really hope this isn't true,
but those UK tabloids very often get stuff right, and this just sucks.

10. Alas,
that report is a month old. A lot can change in a month with cancer, especially the aggressive kind she seems to have.

2. Ohh, I hope not. I don't know anything about the Mirror, but it does
seem like the Brit papers do a better job than the US does. Thats very sad news.

3. I wish her all the best.
I really hope that she does not let vanity/fear keep her from spending her final time with friends and family. :(

Frankly, I'm surprised the poor woman has lasted as long as she has. This is just so incredibly sad....

9. I don't know if the cancer treatment is any different here in Germany
The clinic where my wife was treated for breast cancer consulted daily with Sloan Kettering
in the USA on new procedures and treatments. Part of cancer treatment here in Germany includes
a month's stay at a rehab/wellness spa. Health insurance covers it all, even including the
train trip to the Black Forest, where the rehab clinic is, and back home.

Whether or not there is better treatment here, I couldn't say, but my wife is cancer-free
and looks ten years younger than she is, which is good enough for us.

President Bush was the 1st president to authorize federal funding for embryonic stem cell research on August 9th of 2001.

18. Excess Weight Linked to 90,000 US Cancer Deaths Annually
Can we talk about both because they appear to be related...

http://www.cancer.org/docroot/NWS/content/NWS_1_1x_Excess_Weight_Linked_to_90000_US_Cancer_Deaths_Annually.asp

Being overweight or obese substantially increases the risk of dying from cancer, according to researchers from the American Cancer Society.

In a new study published in Thursday’s New England Journal of Medicine (Vol. 348, No. 17: 1625-1638) researchers Eugenia Calle, PhD, and colleagues determined that overweight and obesity may account for 20% of all cancer deaths in US women and 14% in US men. That means 90,000 cancer deaths could be prevented each year if Americans could only maintain a normal, healthy body weight.

“As a , we have not really acknowledged the contribution of obesity to chronic disease in general and cancer in particular,” said Calle, director of analytic epidemiology at the American Cancer Society. “We are not taking it seriously enough to turn it around. We are not acting on it.”

The researchers followed more than 900,000 men and women for 16 years to determine the role of weight in cancer deaths. They compared participants based on their body mass index, or BMI, a measure of weight adjusted for height. People with a BMI between 25 and 29.9 are considered overweight; those with a BMI of 30 or more are considered obese. People with a BMI between 18.5 and 24.9 are considered normal weight.

19. They aren't mutually exclusive.
50% of all men in America get cancer.
50% of all men aren't obese.

24. Access Hollywood says her producer is denying the story.
He says she's in Germany to film some portions of her documentary. He did say she'll get some tests done while she's there.
