Why there is so much animosity in the press against the Stimulus...
It's quite simple, they all, more than likely, are safely ensconced in the high tax bracket. They will see their taxes increase. Obviously, they don't feel quite as sanguine as the rest of us out here who are sick and tired of carrying the load of the whole economy.

But be that as it may, perhaps the higher ups in the news organization structure should tell them to stop letting personal opinion cloud their judgment when it comes to reporting the "news". Oh yea, they too are being asked to kick in a little extra in the Obama plan so that some sanity can return to federal fiscal policy.

Well, I guess the journalism schools out there may have to add another separate yourself from the story refresher course.

Oh, yea, maybe because these talking heads perhaps majored in Communications and not Journalism that they have such a problem with that separation thing...

1. because anything that helps the middle class is touted
"pork".
Anything that helps the ruling class is touted "necessary".
That is it in a nutshell.

2. Pretty much ...
However, it's up to viewers/listeners/readers to stop acting like sheeple and buying into the BS they broadcast daily/nightly as "news."

4. I'm not happy.
I wanted it to be majority construction and infrastructure including major projects in renewable energy. The rest should have gone as aid to states to keep vital services going and projects that make things more efficient saving us future expenses.

8. did you read the final bill?
I couldn't get through it. I have to learn to force myself. Maybe read it in small bites. I did download it, so I can do it at my leisure, but I have a feeling my leisure is going to be a long time from now.

9. No, but I saw breakdowns.
Tax cuts shouldn't have been in the bill.

And I know for a fact that my senator got funding for Filipino veterans. They deserve it, but really, is that a fiscal stimulus?

Some of this stuff is embarrassing.

10. If the money is spent in local communities it will be a stimulus. The
same for the small amount that people who get SSI. Most of us will spend it locally because we do not have the money to go anywhere else. Stimulus is about buying - jobs do that but other direct funding such as the above and the increase in food stamps and unemployment benefits also do that.

13. I saw that Filipino provision...
Is that fiscal stimulus? I don't know. I don't know the background story. Has this been going on since 1946? As far as tax cuts, I guess you mean all those tax provisions. Now that is a real chore to pick and choose through, and decide what you like, and what you don't isn't it?

7. I suspect that the higher ups aren't saying these things
because they are more than likely Republicans as well, and will also be paying higher taxes. Their personal judgment was clouded a long time ago!

Communication as a subject is certainly not equal to Journalism...But they haven't figured that out just yet. :eyes:

12. Because they have so much fun on vacations in third world nations
they think it would be great to bring that sort of social-economic environment to America?

You know - cheap, live-in masseuses, maids who can bullied because they're deathly afraid of losing their jobs, gigantic walled in mansions on the cheap...
