COLLIER COUNTY: Four of the seven suspects accused of shooting 21 protected birds in Collier County are Naval officers who have been undergoing flight training courses.

Officers found 21 dead birds with gunshot wounds. Some of the birds are classified as "species of special concern" and are protected under state law.

I'm guessing it made these military officers feel like Real Men to shoot a bunch of endangered birds as they were heading home to their nests.

Is this another sign that our military is so desperate that they are not doing the proper vetting for officers now. They should be dishonerably discharged and I hope they get some jail time.

I agree, they should be dishonorably discharged and jailed. However, I half expect to see them given an administrative punishment and put in a position of leadership, teaching their values to the enlisted folks.
