The key to Russ Limbaugh's success is that he appeals to
those too unsophisticated to recognize sophistry.

6. True enough
Which is why I want Rush's mug on every last scrap of Republicanism the party puts out. Rush Limbaugh is the Voice of the Republican Party. If it isn't so, let the party leadership disown him. Otherwise, his every drug-addled rant belongs in their platform.

9. Truth is, by definition, inevitable. Ignorance, Bigotry, and Hate will out.
And we must try to peacefully educate everyone, so those who don't truly belong to RL can be Freed and those who do belong to him will be recognized for what they are.

8. Rush appeals to people who hate Democrats.
It also helps if they are very ignorant. I know a lot of Republicans and only the most uneducated ones listen to Rush. Unfortunately most people are uneducated about politics.

12. they key to his success is repetition
He repeats his points over and over and over. He repeats them often enough that people THINK they have heard it from more than one place so it must be true. His faithful listeners repeat what they believe to have heard as the truth and thus the echo chamber validates him. Just as we were taught our times table in school, repetition works.

If he had a once a week show, he would not have the effect on the listeners that he does now.

blivet** blew their cover when he talked about repeating things to catapult the propaganda. Never confuse the two ... repetition and fact.

13. Republicans are cowards and selfish
they constantly worry someone else is going to get something that they don't or someone is going to take something from them. He just plays to their fears. Just listen to Faux or any of the radio shows it's be afraid be very afraid. Every day they are all worked up about something they hear on Fox or one of the radio shows, Republicans are always worried about something.

14. That's not his only secret,
He's so outrageous and out there that he draws in people of all political stripes. For some it's that whole irresistible draw of the train wreck deal. For others, it's because they want their daily outrage, something that they can get in high dudgeon about.

But yes, most of his listeners are unsophisticated, about sophistry and much, much else.

17. He not only appeals to it
he cultivates it. He's like manure on a field of mushrooms. The mushrooms aren't real bright but they sure do thrive on all that shit.

18. Yes, but he somehow appeals to a lot of other people, as well.
My boyfriend's mother, from what I hear, listens to Rush Limbaugh, and, she's a charming, pleasant, lovely, intelligent, delightful woman.

I have no explanation.

19. Listen to a freeper response from a clueless wonder
"Dude, that speech was awesome. I marked for the CNN Twitter posters
who has posted their reviews before he even gave it. Tool box on Aisle
12.

That was a 100 percent positive speech about America and what it's all
about. Yes, all of it.

As for those saying "No one should make fun of any President" look at
History, even Theodore Roosevelt, Abe Lincoln, etc. had critics. Bush
kept his head up through all the shots taken at him, and it's nowhere
near as rugh a load of flak coming at Obama as Bush had to deal with.
Heck Obama has a solid Congress and Senate majority and the media
loving him. "

This is what your dealing with.

20. He Appeals To Bullies Plan And Simple
As one who was paid to witness Rushbo's first radio show in 1988, the shtick has been the same all along. His "core" audience are 35 plus males...or more specific, angry white male christians. These are kids who were brought in in the 60's and 70's filled with racism, mysogny and every other hate society could cram into them. They were also conditioned to believe that all that went wrong was never their fault....in fact, their side was always right and those who disagreed needed to be shouted down or ridiculed.

The show is nothing but codewords to incite the hatred...Rushbo created a cast of characters, strawmen and scenarios that allow him to use hatred as a "entertainment". It's as if cause he's "joking" nothing he says really should be taken seriously. I've seen braver chickenshit than these oxygen thieves.

21. He appeals by creating "Others" in order to blame - you have to have
a "Them" if you're going to deny "Us" is responsible for anything bad happening

Everything that's going wrong in a Freeper's life is because of some other "Them"
