Drudge and the Politico -- poisonously joined at the hip
in case you thought the new rag The Politico might be fair and balanced, Glenn has done some revealing work on it here:
http://www.salon.com/opinion/greenwald/2007/03/27/politico/index.html

They are basically one in the same...and again, it is leaking out to the MSM as fact. ARG!!!! People like Klien know they can't quote Drudge anymore but quoting Politico sounds okay.

1. Great read!
I used to subscribe to Salon, but had to save money, so I let my membership run out. With people like Glenn over there, I may sign up again.

2. Ha! I knew I hated Politico for a good reason
To me their stories were smothered in Limbaughese. I was wrong, they were smothered in Drudgesludge instead.

3. Thanks for this - K&R. Key sentence (not just for them):
Edited on Tue Mar-27-07 12:21 PM by The Count
"The one thing the media hates more than anything are people who gain popularity and power outside of their system, independent of their rules,"

Keep that in mind when our nominee (whomever) starts the general election race - they'll be merciless!

Another interesting point: they are trying with a blog the same deception they did with print and TV (the "objective" reporting). Sorry guys, it's not the medium, but the content - we are tired of LIES!!!!!

4. I read a post there the other day about McConnell trying to torpedo the Global Warming concert in DC
95% of the comments sounded like they were ripped from the FreeRepublic. That's all I needed to know about the objectivity of that site.

5. As if the rightwing needs another propaganda mill....
The 25,000-run print edition, which will compete with Roll Call and the Hill, is being published three times a week, and once a week when Congress is not in session. Former House members Tom DeLay and Martin Frost have signed on as columnists. Politico staffers, meanwhile, have been appearing on "Face the Nation," "Early Show" and other CBS television and radio programs under a partnership with the network.

Tom DeLay as a columnist? Are they that stupid?

6. I just sent Mike Allen an e-mail
and told him that I'd rather be a blood thirsty Democrat than a brown nosed Bush apologist journalist.

7. I knew it!
I haven't read enough of that site to get a good feel, but for some reason I always checked more reputale sites after reading something there. Thanks for the insight! :hi:
