Best wishes to all who have cancer.
And their families and friends who suffer in various ways from their having cancer. Best wishes to those working on cancer treatments for the sake of humanity rather than making money. Best wishes to those working toward getting decent health care for all, regardless of income, sex, creed, nationality.

1. nice post
I think people need to remember that no one and I mean no one deserves cancer. I'm sure the members of our own Cancer Support group would agree.

4. Thank you for your kind words
I was diagnosed with testicular cancer 3 years ago (on my 30th Birthday no less) but after a successful extraction and yearly CAT scans, I am fine. I know of one co-worker younger than me who died last year after battling it for a couple years.

I want to thank you for your wishes on their behalf. My Pop just had surgery for colon cancer last Wednesday, My Mom for skin cancer in 2005, and one of my sisters for thyroid last summer. All are doing fine (though my Pop has heart problems and this don't help), and so far no further cancer has been detected! :)

Cheers!

11. Yes, nice post and thank you
I'm have surgery for cancer this friday a.m. @ 7:30. I'm having a hysterectomy and node biopsy and thankfully at this point, my prognosis is very good. On one level, I don't like Tony Snow, but on a more important human level, my heart breaks for him. Nobody deserves something like this.

BTW: I didn't know there was a cancer support group on DU, and now I do--so thank you.

15. I had a malignant melinoma removed about ten years ago..
and was told that if it returns I've got about a 5% chance of living.

Anybody know if this is true or not?

16. Depends on a number of factors, no fast and easy rules, sorry.
How deep it was, has it spread, that sort of thing. I wish there were known answers but there aren't. Hoping the best for all.
