Six Good Reasons to Goof On the Governor of Louisiana
Edited on Wed Feb-25-09 05:40 PM by KamaAina
6. Just over a year into his term, he has already faced a recall effort, from citizens disgusted by his comically inept mishandling of a legislative pay raise.

5. He wrote an article for New Oxford Review in which he claimed to have taken part in a ceremony that sounded very much like an exorcism. New Oxford Review has since placed it in the memory hole, but it is mirrored all over the place.

4. New Orleans just lost a major science convention because of a creationism law that he rammed through, in conjunction with the pay raise issue, as a matter of fact. The convention will instead be held in Salt Lake City, which apparently is seen as being more science-friendly. :eyes:

3. It is becoming increasingly apparent that he was, um, less than truthful about his whereabouts and role during Katrina. Remember how he claimed to have delivered his own baby because there weren't any emergency services available?

2. Rush Limbaugh is his BFF. That alone makes him fair game.

1. His name is...

...

...

...

...

...

...

...

...

...

...Bobby, which he took from the Brady Bunch, for crying out loud! How can you not goof on that?

:P

edit: six!

3. Skinner really needs to create a GD: Playground
for you tykes.

You can throw mud and shoot spitballs and make fun of the nerdy kids to your little hearts' content. There wouldn't even be any nap-time or reading hour where the meanie grown-ups would make you sit still and use your brains.

6. Reason #7: "Levitating" trains
That's "levitation" trains, jenius. :sarcasm: Perhaps all this talk of exorcism (see #5) has him confused?

8. And I've heard/read that this doofus is a Rhodes Scholar? Leave it
to a republican't to take the shine off THAT rose.

Note to Rhodes Scholars Application Committee, make the first question "Are you a republican't?" and cut the time spent reading the rest of the ap.

9. The Guardian had a quintessentially British take on that the other day
http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2009/feb/23/bobby-jindal-republican-response-obama

He was born and raised a Hindu, but converted to Catholicism and also has links to Protestant churches. Unusually for a Rhodes scholar, he believes in creationism, a viewpoint that increases his appeal to Christian evangelicals.

11. The Rhodes committee should just ask
Have you ever done a do-it-yourself exorcism? That alone should eliminate the worst wackos.

The interesting thing is that Jindal claims to be a good Catholic. However, church law forbids anyone from doing an exorcism without the express permission of the local bishop -- and only after presenting a solid case that it's necessary.

Jindal broke that church law --

10. taking a name from the Brady Bunch is hysterical.
I really don't care what he calls himself, and can see reasons for changing his name, but the Brady Bunch? I'm glad someone else thinks that bit is funny.
