Help me out here- can anyone think of a worse high profile political speech?
Been around long enough to see quite a few of these things- but I'm having time finding any comparison, either on content or especially in terms of delivery.

There's got to other really, really bad speeches....

3. Nothing even close .... although Alan Keyes, while not nearly as funny, has been equally stupid.
Here in Maryland we had to endure his running for a series of offices. He's eminently entertaining in a totally boring sort of way.

The repubs would have done better with no response.

really bad.

8. Honestly I couldn't either
I was just gobsmacked.

Nothing I ever heard from Bush was quite this jawdroppingly, mindnumbingly embarrassing.

2. A guy in my 7th grade speech class blew chunks 5 seconds into his speech.
That was pretty bad. :)

4. Any of Bush's State of the Whatever Speeches?
I swear to God I went through so many television sets watching that douchebag fumblemouth through a four-syllable word he'd memorized for the occasion, and then stand there grinning like an idiot waiting for Cheney to reach over and pat him on the head.

5. Er...when Duke Cunningham cried and asked the court for leniency?
Not what you meant, but it was pretty funny.

10. Even though it was an outstanding effort, it could never plummet to the rhetorical depths

of John McCain's famous "That's not change we can believe in" abomination in front of the puke-green McCain for President backdrop.

That one will go down in the anals of campaigning as the Number 1 all-time loser. IMHO.

DAMN, MadBadger, we must both be geniuses. I applaud your incisive analysis.

11. Don Knotts in The Ghost & Mr. Chicken?
That speech at the picnic. Oh wait, I guess that wasn't really political and it wasn't as bad either, come to think of it.

15. First time a speech has ever prompted me to go online
to see what others were thinking...to make sure that I wasn't the only one that had to turn it off because it embarrassed me
