BREAKING NEWS: In the middle of Hurricane Katrina, a Louisiana sheriff actually YELLED!
Luckily, a young upstart by the name of Bobby Jindal was on the scene.

"Gee whiz! Why are you raising your voice, sir? I heard you actually YELLING into the telephone. Is something wrong?" Asked the concerned Jindal.

"Well, actually, see, there was a giant fucking hurricane that just practically wiped out the city of New Orleans and there are people who have been trapped on their roofs for days," answered the sheriff.

WTF!!!

They couldn't be rescued by fellow citizens and volunteers because of boating licenses?
Is Jindal suggesting that there be no more driver's licenses because there just might be a disaster and an unlicensed driver just might need to help out by driving?
How does his tale of government "meddling" excuse the abject failure of government during Hurricane Katrina?
Oh, if only the government hadn't gotten involved!
So many more people would have been saved if it wasn't for the government!

No, you idiot. The government did not get involved. Your dream came true. Your vision of a government that butts out was actually realized in Hurricane Katrina! And people died because of it.

My head hurts!

Jindal/Steele 2012!
Coming to the next urban-suburban hip-hop community near you!

8. No kidding. His presidential campaign slogan should be: "Elect me to make me less powerful!"

7. I couldn't believe my ears!
The biggest failure of our government to perform its duties toward the common good of our citizens...and this IDIOT raises it as an example of the way things should work.

How do they keep a straight face when they deliver this bullshit?

9. Bizarro world. And just thinking about the disconnect of his story. He was so cutely referencing
the horror of the people who were trapped on their roofs to make some stupid "aw shucks" point. How many of those same people who the sheriff was trying to save didn't make it? Why should it have been up to a sheriff to coordinate rescue efforts for a national disaster? You would think that being so close to such a tragedy would have opened Jindal's eyes, but since he was literally placed in the Republican party at the age of 22, I suppose there is no way out of his messed up ideology.

19. I just posted the text of Jindal's Hurricane Katrina story from the speech.
Actual quotes....no. Just a dramatization based on the idiocy of his story. You should definitely read the text or, even better, watch that segment. It made me sick.

16. Here is the full text of the WTF Hurricane Katrina story.
"Today in Washington, some are promising that government will rescue us from the economic storms raging all around us. Those of us who lived through Hurricane Katrina, we have our doubts.

Let me tell you a story. During Katrina, I visited Sheriff Harry Lee, a Democrat and a good friend of mine. When I walk into his makeshift office, I had never seen him so angry. He was literally yelling into the phone. "Well, I'm the sheriff, and if you don't like it, you can come and arrest me." I asked him, "Sheriff, what's got you so mad?" He told me that he put out a call for volunteers to come with their boats to rescue people who were trapped on their rooftops by the floodwaters. The boats were all lined up and ready to go. And then some bureaucrat showed up and told him they couldn't go out in the water unless they had proof of insurance and registration.

And I told him, "Sheriff, that's ridiculous." Before I knew it, he was yelling in the phone. "Congressman Jindal's here, and he says you can come and arrest him, too." Well, Harry just told those boaters ignore the bureaucrats and go start rescuing people.

There's a lesson in this experience: The strength of America is not found in our government. It is found in the compassionate hearts and the enterprising spirit of our citizens.

We're grateful for the support we've received from across the nation for our ongoing recovery efforts. This spirit got Louisiana through the hurricanes, and this spirit will get our nation through the storms we face today."

17. To paraphrase Billy madison
Mr Jindal. Nowhere in your rambling incoherent response did you come anywhere close to a correct answer. We are all dumber for having heard that. I award you no points, and may god have mercy on your soul.

21. Hilarious. I hope this guy stays front and center of the GOP. He and Palin will make an excellent
team. The two final nails in the coffin, so to speak. I guess Michael Steele's GOP hip-hop can play at the funeral.
