Because they won't be punishing disloyalty to the party - they'll be punishing LOYALTY TO THE COUNTRY.

People realize they're acting like two year olds who lost a binkie and that they don't have the interest of this country or its people at heart.

Their poll numbers are tanking.

The good news is that, being Republicans, they're wedded to a losing strategy for the foreseeable future.
