Tweety just suggested Dean for HHS Secy
Edited on Tue Feb-24-09 07:26 PM by eleny
Looked at the camera and paraphrasing here he said - President Obama, he got you the victory, give him a piece of it.

Dean was beaming. :D

3. Tweety also suggested Geithner be fired
yesterday.

and that Hillary won her senate seat because Bill Clinton cheated on her.

Tweety is an idiot.

BTW I support Dean for HHS, but Tweety is an idiot.

6. I can't help but agree
Even this morning, he was dumping on Geithner. I was never crazy about Geithner and don't understand why he was chosen even given his background. But Tweety has been acting so wacky these past few days. I think he keeps losing money in the market and it's got him deranged.

Silly declaration about Hillary and her Senate seat. She got it because she's talented, hard working and she was a first lady. Being born and raised in NYC my gut said that New Yorkers weren't going to pass up that combination.

7. Dean initiated the 50 State Strategy
He refused to give up on the South. He put offices in every state and he got results. With the presence of an organization in every state, it made it possible for the Dem to win.

9. I think if anything the primaries ended up helping for that reason
I credit him with getting us control of Congress again, but I think Obama's grassroot's organization is what helped a lot more.

12. Im talking about the fact that there was a primary in every state
It allowed the campaigns to build up grassroots organizations in each state.

14. Dean had an organization in each state long before the Primaries
That presence made it easier for our candidates to plug into each state because they weren't starting from scratch. Dean paved the way by putting Dem presence in each state.

16. In the primaries, the candidates had to build up their own organizations
The Dems in the state were split. When it came time to the GE, sure they helped, but they were incorporated into Obama's grassroots operation which I think for the GE ultimately proved more important.

I'm not saying the 50 state strategy didnt help, because it did. I just dont agree with saying that Dean won it for Obama because I think Obama's organization did it for him.

Please take the last word if you wish. I've made my point and am now done with you.

13. As I said to the poster above, I dont credit that for Obama's victory
Instead his own grassroots organization built up through the primaries...among other factors of course.

20. Check with those grassroots folks and find out how many of them
we're first fired up by the original grassroots internet organizer, Howard Dean.

25. Yep, Howard Dean was quite a bit ahead of his time and
Obama hit it perfectly at the right time but Howard had it first and he is owed a big debt, a debt that should be paid back and not just with any lackey's job but with the right job. HHS sec. is the right job for him.

19. Then you most assuredly haven't been paying attention
The fifty state strategy which the current leader of the DNC is dismantling as fast as he can, was a massive part of the victory and the long coat tails. The enthusiasm for Obama towards the end didn't hurt but it would have been close enough to steal yet again without the genius of Howard Dean.

but maybe it's as simple and childish as that. I don't know.
