Theater of the absurd

Justin Rifis, a River Forest reader, writes:

"At a recent White House press conference, a number of soldiers, veterans and their family members stood behind the lectern from which President Bush spoke. It was during this conference that President Bush accused the Democratic Congress of political theater. . . ."

No. The soldiers and veterans probably just happened to drop by.

You don't think the Bush administration would use them as stage props, do you?

Then I've got a bridge for you-and I'll even throw in a couple of monuments.

4. I saw a photo from that conference...all older vets.
I find a lot of older vets feel that right or wrong, you have to stick by your president.

He would do better to have his base with him. The floor men from Wall St.

10. He is sort of interesting to me along with so many in the Middle East
It is like we have all these people from other age trying to make thing go back wards. It is down right crazy. Once the Middle East people find that they can rule them self they will not want to go back to the days of war lords etc. and it is not some thing that one gets out of your head once you find out about it. Same with Bush. It is like he is stuck in some Middle European time warp where the ruling class lived on top of society and ran every thing. We got rid of it 200 years ago and he goes on like he is the GD Kaiser, Czar or Em. Joseph of the Hapsburg and is in as much of a fog as they were. The oddest part is how many Am. seem to want that type of govt. back, or are so dense that they do not see why our govt. was set up as it was. One year we had this darn govt. style drilled into our heads in school and it was a very interesting and hard class.

8. This Regime would never
use the military to bolster them would they? So the words about noble deaths and sacred blood and honor and such are all put into dead lips by grave robbers and fakes who have no right to speak for the dead. ~ Dalton Trumbo
