AZ Republican Rep: "Education does not create jobs"
"Republicans vote to repeal property tax"
http://www.azdailysun.com/articles/2009/02/24/news/state/20090224_arizo_191519.txt?rating=true

Slaine said when the state doesn't have enough tax revenues, that means less money for education. And she said Arizona's economy won't improve unless there are people qualified to be in business.

"We have to have educated students who are ready to start these businesses," she said.

That contention drew derision from Rep. Andy Biggs, R-Gilbert.
"Education does not create jobs," he said. "Entrepreneurs and businesses create jobs."

---

I think that pretty much sums up the bankrupt mind-set of Arizona Republicans. These guys worship "Entrepreneurs" like Keating, Lay and Madoff, but seem to think that educators are just "Parasites".

4. No education creates Republican politicians.
Hey Slaine, DEMAND creates jobs. Without demand, no entrepeneur will succeed, ever. Remember that next time you go into business making stagecoaches.

17. Hey, there are plenty of states that will be glad for the jobs that don't go to AZ.
Too bad for the young people of AZ, though.

After all, education is just something to fill up the youngsters days 'til they're old enough to go out and get a job. :sarcasm:

And for a more employable work force.

Obama will make America an advanced society for the 21st century.

16. Obviously they have the same mental capacity as bush.
an IQ of -1000. No amount of education will be an improvement to them but give a break to the rest of the normal people/children. That's the only hope this country has.

Edited on Tue Feb-24-09 05:46 PM by fujiyama
They may or may not all have graduate degrees, but it takes skill to start a business and sell a product or service.

Oh hell, there's no point in even wasting time with such idiots. And of course, those that are employed by the entrepreneurs usually need to be educated if they want to be valuable to the business.

24. ...then how does one become an Entrepreneur or businessman??????
Without an education, how does one become a business owner. Let's ask him to take his kids out of school, it doesn't matter right? This is the great thing about lower echelon "repugnant-cans" like this one. ; they have no idea how to justify their warped political ideology so they just spew it out. The Republican politicians in the big leagues are just as lost but are much better bull shit artists (take Jindal for instance). I can't wait till that way of thinking joins political history. Sadly I don't think I'll get to see it in my life time. I'd like to see this absurd republican war on academics end already.
