So...do we import food from India at all?
Cuz Russia seems to be threatening to ban India's exports because of finding pesticides, contaminants and insecticides in their exported food.

Russia has warned India that it will ban the imports of rice, sesame and peanut if New Delhi fails to comply with food safety requirements.

Food safety watchdog Rosselkhoznadzor said it had seized several shipments of Indian rice, sesame and peanuts after finding banned pesticide, contaminants and insecticides in them.

It urged India to provide safety certificates on its food exports, including the use of pesticides and other pecifications.

1. Only Indian mangoes.
You know, that whole "Nukes for Mangoes" deal that Bush Inc made way back when to a non-NNPT member.

4. And now....
Harleys for mangoes....

NEW DELHI: It's going to be mangoes in return for Harley Davidson bikes. In a quid pro quo, India is going to allow the import of a specified number of the iconic motorcycles at lower duty, while US is finally going to announce the entry of Indian mangoes.

2. we do.
nuts, some dried fruits, herbs and spices mostly. some rice. you could probsably even find some speialty dairy products in ethnic grocers. Due to processors influence country of origin labeling is practically nonexistent in the states. me, itry and avaoid anything from india because of the overwhelming use of GMOs there. not necessarily becaus of health concerns but for environmental and corporate piracy reasons.

if you're worried about contamionants from pesticides and such your best bet is going local and organic.

find a CSA or farmer's market
