9. Yes we still need unions . . . Nonetheless,
Just as there needs to be a total housecleaning at the top of most major corporations, many union locals need to be swept clean of unscrupulous biz mgrs and union reps who care nothing for the members, except to collect their dues.

10. The global corporate capitalists
Have used outsourcing and offshoring very successfully in killing unions. Union or right-to-work won't matter in a global economy, and the stupid middle class conservatives are cheerleading this with their worship of free market, supply side, tax cuts to the wealthy nonsense. The only competition will be the remaining jobs left that are not exportable due to physical necessity or talent, but there is always illegal immigration and H1-B visas that can "fill" that bill here.

Wait until China and maybe India begin to export vehicles to sell in Wal*Mart like dealerships to the "new" and poorer middle class. The 21st century "motor cities" of the South (in Ala, TN, ect..) will vanish as quickly as they appeared.

16. My reaction too.
No surprise though. Contemporary media always eager to host a forum for union-bashing.

26. Experts? I don't need no stinking experts!
I'm doing very well with my UNION pensions and my UNION wife nurse's health coverage.
However, just like my war experience..... I do have some measure of "survivor's guilt" for the Americans that have been left behind.
