1993 Deja Vu? Eric Cantor as Newt Gingrich? Republicans Predicting Stimulus Failure?
Edited on Mon Feb-16-09 08:30 PM by Median Democrat
Here is another factoid that the mainstream media will aggressively ignore even while they celebrate Eric Cantor as the second coming of Newt Gingrich. The news media has been attacking Obama for Republicans failure to vote for the stimulus bill, and blaming him for Republicans turning their back on overtures by the White House. Worse, the Sunday talkshows has uncritically repeated Republican talking points attacking the stimulus as wasteful, and likely to deepen the current recession that Obama inheritted from Bush. Sound familiar?

I would love to see a compilation of quotes by current members of Congress denouncing Bill Clinton's stimulus bill, which of course set the stage for an unprecedented 8 years of economic growth. Even better would be a comparison of such quotes with what they are saying now about Obama's plan.

Where's Daily News?
