Joe Scarborough "The Ass-HOLE" of MSNBC
Joe Scarborough spend th entire opening segment attaching the Obama administration for the efforts. When his REP friends were backing the creation of financial crisis. I understand that Obama is the president NOW, but he has been on the job for only two weeks and we need some positive comments from the people that help represent the voice of the people. The Republicans are mad at the fact that they lost so bad and they are using every avenue to ATTACH, ATTACH & ATTACH.

I wish Rachael and/or Keith can just drop in on Joey "The Ass-HOLE" Scarborough, because his sidekicks are WEAK.

5. Yes he did admit that but it came out like an after thought behind
his three minute rant. He and Mike Barnacle attacked Geitner on cosmetics! Joe sickens me every morning and I only put up with him until WJ comes on.

9. well - in all honesty - how comfortable are you with the "plan"
congress argues and argues about the amount of the bill.

Then we find out yesterday - there is no plan. No one seems to know what to do. Or when to do it.

Joe could be right - why are we going headfirst into this - when we have no plan? or a shaky plan at best.

An incremental spending plan seems like a good idea to me. Spend a considerable amount. See if it has the intended result. If not - adjust. If so, then continue.

I would feel more comfortable with something like that.

I am also VERY nervous hearing solutions from non-economists. What do these guys know? They are looking for votes. I would like to see a gaggle of economists hash this out. Maybe that is going on behind the scenes, but let's hear from the economists.

34. After Hank Paulson's appearances in which he looked totally panicked
I could not believe that Scarborough and Barnicle would make comments about Geitner. I hate watching Morning Joe but between 6 and 7 AM it is the only morning show with closed captioning which I use to keep from waking my hubby up before his alarm goes off.

6. Barbara Boxer was just on and she schooled them in
economics and how legislation is passed. Gave great support to the President and sent a message to the Rs that they had made their point so they could now either join in trying to solve the nations problems or get out of the way.

7. I see anger management issues.
Edited on Wed Feb-11-09 08:49 AM by Zen Democrat
How many people like to wake up to red-faced screaming? That's happened to me a few times when my TV clicked on at the pre-set time and Joe was absolutely apoplectic about something that made no sense. I had to turn it to something sane. I wonder how many people like me, cannot tolerate this manufactured drama, McLaughlin style, first thing in the morning. I like current events and give and take, but angry tirades not at all. Yeah, he needs psychological help. Didn't he let the F word fly a few weeks back? He lacks control, not to mention lacking intelligence, compassion, and a mind of his own. So he's a no-go for me. And Mika, I don't know what happened to her but she comes off as insincere to the extreme, with canned gestures and facial expressions that Drama 101 should eliminate. When I look at her I see Stockholm Syndrome. When I look at Joe I see sorry sack of shit on the verge of a breakdown.

8. Anger Issues...
Joe "SHIT BAG" Scarborough is everything that you mentioned and more, but my extra concern is the fact that the MSNBC execs won't allow anyone to check his ass. Morning Joe is starting to mimic FOX News nonsense. Please Rachael or Keith, answer these cries.

26. Unless one is a Nielsen household, it has no impact on their
ratings if one tunes in. I am grateful for the sturdy souls with strong stomachs who venture into the cesspool to let us know what's going on there, just so I can avoid it altogether myself. (We should keep track of what the bad guys are up to, you know. I just don't want to do it myself!)

35. Not Necessarily So
Cable companies know what you watch and how often you tunr in. They may not publish ratings but I'd bet TV execs peep at those numbers too. Joe has the lowest ratings when put up against Faux and CNN morning shows.

10. Joe gets horrendous ratings.
There must be a reason they're keeping him and his motley crew of idiots around. He only gets about 200,000-250,000 viewers a day, and that's on a good day. Compare that to the close to 1 million people who watch Fox & Friends.

I think Chris Matthews would do much better in the morning, and then give his spot to Olbermann.

18. That's interesting because I saw a commercial
while flipping through the channels that said his show was the fastest growing show (or something to that effect). Either they're lying or they think he's doing well. What happened to the big affair news?

(I don't watch him but have seen clips - what an idiot.)

21. Nope - Trails CNN & FOX
but the NY Observer has written this glowing article .... prepare to puke

Although it still trails in the ratings behind CNN’s American Morning and Fox News’ Fox & Friends, since its inception in the spring of 2007, Morning Joe has grown into a buzzy phenomenon, particularly beloved among policy wonks in New York and Washington.http://www.observer.com/mobile/article/82242

27. barf!
You're right, it stinks.

The article also points out how thoroughly stuck Mika is in the good old boy's way of doing things. It's a good thing that she's attractive and flirty so they can manage to listen to her point of view!

Extra credit! It contains this description: "Laura Ingraham—the brainy blond conservative political commentator"

24. "Fastest growing" can be pretty meaningless.
The lower your numbers are, the easier it is to grow fast. If he went from 10 to 30 viewers, they could say his audience tripled.

28. Favor to the Bush family
He was being groomed in Florida to be a playa in BushCo. Then he allegedly killed his intern and was forced out of his Congressional seat, but he carried a lot a water for the Republicans. Now that Bush is gone, he's going to run for Senate. His days at MSNBC are numbered. The poster that said he gets 200,000 viewers a day is being generous. I've read figures around 140,000. But then, maybe that was before his "fastest growth."

37. Maybe he's something of a 'loss leader'?
i.e., they keep him on despite his low ratings because he keeps the RW ideology out there, and whatever they lose by having JS is worth it to the corporatists in the long run.

13. Everyone missed Sen. Boxer coming on and admonishing the whole MJ crew

For their pessimism and lack of understanding of the process.

She said everyone there could write a bill that they wanted, Joe, Barnacle and then
she said " EVEN MICKA" could write a bill that she liked. (everyone laughed and
Micka said Oh, my goodness)

Then she went and corrected Joe saying the ENERGY BILL which she
is working on right now will include a lot of the Green Jobs
the country needs and the stimulus package is just a jump start
to the infrastructure energy green job growth.
