Poll question: Should President Obama Sit down for an Interview/Beer with Wingnut Sean Hannity?
I think Obama should do the opposite of what Bush did, and do interviews with Fox News (While Bush treated MSNBC and anybody else really like they had the plague).

1. Hannity will only appear lesser for it.
And this is not coming from a cheerleader, but Obama has far more gravitas than Sean dumbass.

21. This is probably the most important point.
If Obama does talk with Hannity, he should treat it with the same level of importance as he did when he visited SNL or The View.

5. Hannity would just look foolish
This question came from Mr. Obama's appearance in Elkhart, Indiana. Elkhart is only a few miles from where I was born, and one of the few places in Indiana that isn't rabidly Republican. I lived in Indiana until almost two years ago. I'm still in shock that Obama took Indiana, even by the slimmest of margins.

Obama would make Hannity look truly foolish. However, he should accept the invitation. If Rush Limbaugh would ever issue a similar invitation (when pigs fly), he should accept that as well.

However, I don't see it happening. The AM radio loudmouths and Faux Propaganda Channel aren't equipped for someone refuting their BS as intelligently as Obama would.

6. No, Hannity is a pathological liar and human waste.
Human waste should not be given the time of day. Other human waste blindly listen to him and are an unredeemable menace to our country.

14. If I thought it would do any good
I'd say yes. But I don't think it will do any good so ... no. If he did go on the show, I would say ONLY if it is live. No taping and opportunities for editing.

15. I say no......Obama's remarks
would only go way over the head of the typical Fox viewer. No way they could accept his views let alone understand them.

17. Madrassa
Edited on Tue Feb-10-09 11:33 PM by Juche
I remember a long time ago when Obama was boycotting Foxnews because they were lying and saying he attended a terrorist madrassa as a kid.

http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalradar/2007/04/obama_to_nix_fo.html

"ABC News' Jake Tapper Reports: Sen. Barack Obama, D-Illinois, will be the second Democratic presidential candidate to boycott a proposed debate to be broadcast by Fox News Channel.

"CNN seems to be a more appropriate host," an Obama campaign aide tells ABC News.

Obama and Fox News Channel have had frosty relations ever since January, when the channel hyped and repeated untrue allegations that Obama had attended an extremist Islamist madrassa as a child living in Indonesia. (More on that here).

Former Sen. John Edwards, D-NC, was the first to formally boycott the Fox News debate, which is sponsored by the Congressional Black Caucus, of which Obama is a member."

Sad that he is now giving credibility to FoxNews. I can understand the concept of different opinions (I don't mind if Fox is conservative) but it is not only conservative, but it is full of lies, half truths and they pretend they are fair and balanced. that bothers me. If you want to be conservative, then fine. I don't feel the same way but it is a free country. But be intellectually honest in your debates and in where you stand. Don't lie and say the new deal failed one minute, then pretend to be fair and balanced the next. Don't lie endlessly about history and policy, then lie about where you stand. Be honest in your views.

Obama should interview with an intellectually honest journalist, not a guy who media matters labeled 'misinformer of the year' in 2008 because he said more factually incorrect, misleading things than anyone else in the media.

If he feels compelled to talk the jerk offs who where wrong and lost the election, can't he find one that, at least has the appearance of integrity?

23. Not a fucking chance in hell
He is not a journalist. He an extremist propagandist. It's not like meeting with Ahmadinejad who is a legitimate leader of a country. That self-absorbed narcissistic pile of shit deserves no recognition whatsoever, or anyone else on Faux.
