The document shows that Ms. Andersen has asked that the RIAA take her daughter's deposition by phone or videoconference, but the RIAA insists on interrogating the child in person.

3. The RIAA are scum.
Their entire existence is devoted to sustaining a fundamentally corrupt cartel. They exploit and victimize their clients' customers, demanding repeated "royalties" on materials that have been bought and paid for time and time again, while deploying draconian powers against any who resist their will.

Meanwhile, they also sustain an environment of exploitation with respect to the artists who create the products that make RIAA members rich.

The entire recording industry should be swept into a deep pit and buried, with the RIAA at the bottom.

6. I think it was more the quality of the cases,
In the case of Direct TV they wanted to sue hundreds of thousands of people who owned drives that programmed smart cards, we stopped taking them seriously when we discovered that we owned about 50 computers that came from the factory with the card readers that they wanted to sue the owners of. There was even a segment on the local CBS news about a guy who also owned one of the computers (and had cable) and was being sued by Direct TV, so that looked like a freak show we wanted to part of.

In the cases of the RIAA and MPAA, they seemed less interested in litigation and more interested in intimidation. They would probably be further ahead to hire actors to play lawyers than hire us.
