1. Specter supported the original stimulus plan, don't forget.
You can count on his vote as well.

7. I know a lot of people hate him around here.
And that's fine. But he's up for re-election in 2010. He'd all but lose that election if he goes against his support for the bill.

Like I said, you CAN count on him.

4. Republicans want billions for white military contractors, NOTHING for people of color.
You're only fooling yourself if you think that's not the case.

Their racist voters CHOKE on the idea of giving a fucking CENT to "welfare moms" and their children who don't even deserve basic medical care without jumping through hoops greater than what banks did to get BILLIONS. These same pigs, however, don't lose any sleep over buying billion dollar jets which will never be used and all the military which did NOTHING for us on 9/11.

Wow. Am I sounding a little angry?

10. Why do you associate food stamps with "people of color"? Are you part "moran"?

13. I don't, the vast majority of people who vote Republican do.

If you think racism isn't the number one reason Republicans oppose what they call "welfare" you're living in an alternative universe.

I'm not necessarily talking about a given Republican Senator or whatever.

Watch Washington Journal one day when they're taking calls and you'll see who I'm talking about.

or simply check this out:

14. I associate Food Stamps with poverty, personally. It's one of America's
most disgusting injustices that poverty is FAR more prevalent among racial minorities than among whites.

6. This is stupid. We don't need any Republican votes
We rule the roost in Washington.

Democrats control the House of Representatives.

Democrats control the Senate.

President Obama is head of the Executive Branch.

We don't need the Republicans to govern, and we sure don't need to be giving anything away to them.

This is our opportunity to crush the Republicans once and for all. I sure hope we don't squander our advantage at this critical moment in history.

9. If appeasement is needed to pass the bill, I say appease Democrats, not Republicans
We should take care of our own first, and to heck with the Republicans.

12. We don't just get two or three votes, we get a stimulus bill
Only two months ago we were hoping for a $350 billion stimulus bill. Now we have more than double that and still have plenty of time to do other things in the General Budget..While I don't like all the tax cuts and especially the military spending I feel this is the Republicans last hoorah. Democrats are going to catch holy hell for their submissions and I expect them to stand a little more firm in the future..
