They should be extremely specific about the exact benefits that would come their way.

1. Interesting you should mention that
piyush jindal of Louisiana and haley bar-bore of Mississippi two republican governors of red states think the stimulus package is a horrible idea. BUT they'd take the share allocated for their states. Jerkoff erecti!

3. Perhaps there should be built into the package a provision that allows
a Governor to refuse the aid allotted for his state, so that Republicans can either be exposed as hypocrites if they don't refuse it, or if they do based on their "conservative principles" they can go ahead and take the heat when their constituants find out what they've done.

I would sell this by saying, "we respect that their are some in the other party who feel that this stimulus is wasteful and won't provide the desired effect. We have put in a provision that allows them to refuse the portion of the stimulus that would go to their particular state, so everyone should know that when this bill passes, opponents will still have a pathway to adhere to the conservative values they espouse."

That would be sweet.

2. Now THAT is a plan of action I can get behind!
Especially since a large portion of it is bailing their asses out of budget crunches, they should be standing on their heads if that's what it takes to get it done.
