So you think we won and it's over?
I did, sort of, until today. I had a meeting here of my PAC and some other people who are active in New Hampshire progressive politics. Seems that the far right has moved in on this State in an effort to take it back. Also, the Free Staters and the Advantage tax cap folks are making their presence known. They are working very quietly on the local level scaring the shit out of people about what is going to happen under that "nasty black man, Obama". There are some pretty scarey things afoot so we should not let down our guard. The fight to get our Country back has just begun.

1. They will never quit you know. Never. They spend ALL of their time on winning and not the people.

2. I don't know ANYONE who was stupid enough to say or think that "it's over"...

Well, except one person, apparently.

EDIT: Replaced the lazy anaphor with its antecedent.

3. The closest I've heard has been 'we've won; it's started.'

5. Oh, I don't know. I think a lot of people thought that they could relax
and breathe a little bit. One woman at my meeting said that it was such a relief not to be angry anymore. I don't think I'm stupid but I didn't realize the extent of it.

6. Ah - so "relax and breathe a little bit" = "it's over". Thanks for clarifying.

7. As I see it our Generals have just come to the field of battle, nothing has been decided yet/
The first battle hasn't even been fought yet and our Generals will not be able to fight unless we the soldiers stand up first and foremost.

8. Nope. I pretty much expected that if Obama won...
we would have to deal with bullshit like "what racism? There's a black man in the White House after all". Obama is not the panacea for racism; he broke a glass ceiling but it is upon us to remain vigilant.

10. I have never thought our work is complete.
The GOP still control the media, the courts and the schools.

Until we can get those back, everyone loses.

11. The thing they fear most is Obama succeeding.
If he pulls this whole thing off, they're dead for decades, and they know it.

12. We won and it's just as scary..
as it ever was. I don't see anything but rough...really rough seas ahead. It seems like winning something means that we are more vulnerable than ever. The Republicans and the interests they represent may seem to be the minority, but the media and the justice department, along with so many of us not using our voice, makes them the majority. They are masters of perception management, and lethal politics.
