She Wants to Breastfeed Them All - now I know she's crazy (Octuplets)
..“She did not expect all eight to be born, but now she is so happy she did not choose. She wants to breast-feed all of them,” said the grandmother. “We are all excited about the busy times to come.”...

and Oprah is gonna make her a millionaire

...THE single mother of octuplets born in California last week is seeking $2m (£1.37m) from media interviews and commercial sponsorship to help pay the cost of raising the children.

Nadya Suleman, 33, plans a career as a television childcare expert, since it emerged last week that she already had six children before giving birth on Monday. She now has 14 below the age of eight. Although still confined to an LA hospital bed, she intends to talk to two influential television hosts this week - media mogul Oprah Winfrey, and Diane Sawyer, who presents Good Morning America.

Her family has told agents she needs cash from deals such as nappy sponsorship - she will get through 250 nappies a week over the next few months - and the agents will gauge public reaction to her story. A veteran from the ICM agency said: “If she wins over Oprah or Diane Sawyer, she will have the world at her feet.”

This woman's the birthing equivalent of a Wall St. banker getting a bonus. Or wants to be.

10. AOL's news had a completely different story on Grandma
LOS ANGELES (Jan. 31) - The woman who gave birth to octuplets this week conceived all 14 of her children through in vitro fertilization, is not married and has been obsessed with having children since she was a teenager, her mother said.

Angela Suleman told The Associated Press she was not supportive when her daughter, Nadya Suleman, decided to have more embryos implanted last year.

"It can't go on any longer," she said in a phone interview Friday. "She's got six children and no husband. I was brought up the traditional way. I firmly believe in marriage. But she didn't want to get married."
==========
She said she warned her daughter that when she gets home from the hospital, "I'm going to be gone."

http://news.aol.com/article/octuplets-grandmother-upset-over/319875?icid=200100397x1218198633x1201188316

The good news is that Mom is out of fertilized eggs. The bad news is that she's probably still baby besotted and needs treatment she's not going to get because an exaggerated trait that is usually a positive one is not going to seem like illness.

I'm not saying that she is hurting the children as is customary in MSbP, but her DELIBERATE attempt to have as many as possible is a definite action to draw attention to herself. I also read that her mother (grandmother of 14) said that she was "obsessed".

Any numbers greater than that will require supplemental formula...

And extra hands to feed all those babies...

I'm sure she will have lots of help...

The kids will be OK...

Why do you think they won't be? The publicity?

17. Why I don't think they'll be okay
There are only so many hours in the day and so much energy a person has. There is simply no way she can feed all 8, diaper and change all 8, and put all 8 to bed by herself. Keep in mind she already has six to take care. As a single mom with no financial resources, she simply won't be able to take care of them.

30. Who would give it?
She needs help on a 24/7 basis. Only family can do that. The woman has her parents but the story says her father is off to Iraq to earn some money so he can't help. Her mother may be around but we don't know her age or how willing she is to help. In fact, one of the stories said the grandmother told the mother not to expect her to be around.
In none of the stories have I heard of anyone helping with the care of her existing 6 kids.
Based on all this, I think she won't get the kind of 24/7 help she needs to take care of eight preemies. What makes you think she will get the kind of help she needs?
If you are thinking she will get some money from the sale of her story, how long do you think it would last? The mother would need at least 2 if not 3 people to help her round the clock. Whatever money the money gets would be spent very fast on help, diapers, food, and medical care (remember they are preemies.)

29. I've known women who fed three.
Actually I've met one lady who produced enough milk for four: her baby, toddler, and her neighbor's twins- their mother had a medical issue that prevented her from breastfeeding and they were allergic to formula- but that probably only worked because the toddler was only nursing maybe twice a day.

But yeah, eight is right out. Even if a woman could make enough milk, babies that premature almost certainly can't nurse at the breast and it's difficult enough to keep up a supply or one or two when one is exclusively pumping.

On the other hand, insurance will generally cover donor milk for premature infants, so they may be able to get breastmilk exclusively for a while even if it's not all from her.

47. I hope Oprah and Diane think carefully about this.
I hope if they decide to give this woman more exposure (which bothers me), that they don't make her out to be a celebrity. Of course, this delusional woman will probably want to glorify her "miracle." Learning more about this woman and the circumstances under which this took place just disgust me. Shame on all parties involved that allowed this to happen.

I really with the media would be more responsible about this....but I have been known to want ice water in hell! :)

By my calculations, if she ONLY spends 15 minutes per child per feeding, she is looking at 2 hours per feeding! And, don't breastfed babies eat a little more often than bottle-fed babies?
