Can we count on all Democratic Senators
to vote for the stimulus package? I am worried about our Senators from Ark., Neb, La., and maybe Fl.

3. Some Dems may vote against it, but filibustering could be
a different story. As long as they can break cloture, it will pass.

4. 60 is a myth. However, there are moderate GOPers that will help us now and then. nt

6. 60 is not a myth
If a Senator calls for a cloture vote, you need 60 votes to prevent a filibuster. The question is whether EVERY Republican wants to be seen as stopping a package from passing. (When we were the minority, there were many ready to vote against Alito, but not to filibuster him - even though the cloture vote was the only bill that had a feel chance to stop him. Had everyone who voted against him also voted for cloture, he would have been defeated.)
