I've been layed off, and tonight is my last night of work. I don't have the internet at home, so it's so long DU. I've enjoyed my time here, and I wish you all the very best.

After "signing on the broo"(going down to the hiring hall and the relief office each morning to apply for the jobs that weren't there and showing the sanctimonious relief bureaucrats that he was, in fact, trying to get work)Ewan would spend the day at the library, giving himself a much better education than he ever could have received from any college. He went on to sing songs, write songs, and write plays that would help change the world.

Believe that there's hope, and there can be.

Also, you might consider using some of the time to volunteer doing some sort of political or community organizing work. They're always looking for people who can come in and help during daytime hours, and it can be a way to make contacts. If nothing else, it gives you a place to go and something to do each day. In times like these, having a purpose like that can be the difference between life and death.

I still have the application...I saved it as a souvenir. :)

My old 1999 iMac still works with DU running outdated OS 9.1. Not as well as my newer one, but if you just want to read or post and forget the videos and fancy graphics, it works fine. A dial-up ISP only costs about $10.00 a month, so why not keep in touch?
